This school policy takes into account the Norfolk County policy on admissions.
We anticipate working to a pre-set admission limit based on working floor space in school and calculated annually by the Local Authority, at present this is 16. The Governors of Antingham & Southrepps Primary School reserve the right to use their power of discretion to review this number when applicable. Antingham & Southrepps Primary School’s catchment area is Antingham, Bradfield, Southrepps and Thorpe Market.
By Law children must start statutory education full time at the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday. But children may start school at the beginning of the school year in which they turn five years old.
Parents must complete a ‘Common Application Form’ stating three school preferences, this is sent to Norfolk County Council by 15th January 2016. Parents are informed of their selected school by the end of April 2016.
In the case of oversubscription the authority will give preference to children living nearest to the school according to the following rules in order of priority:
- Children with a statement of special educational needs naming that school.
- Children in public care who are due to start school.
- Children who are due to start school, living in the area served by the school who have a brother or sister attending the school at the time of their admission.
- Children who are due to start school, living outside area served by the school who have a brother or sister attending the school at the time of their admission.
Pupils wishing to join the school at stages other than Reception are welcome and will start in the class group appropriate to their age.
Parents who are interested in gaining a place for their child at Antingham and Southrepps are invited to visit the school and meet the Headteacher, staff and children.
