Dear Parent / Carer,
A huge thank – you for supporting us with our efforts to improve our overall attendance percentage, which currently stands at 95%. In assemblies last week, we celebrated this achievement and were pleased to announce to the students that almost three hundred students had managed 100% attendance since January.
This is particularly pleasing since many students have come into school even though they have had heavy colds or been under the weather with one of the nasty bugs going around. Please remember that we can make arrangements for any student who feels unwell to work for part of the day in the Learning Support Unit if it helps you to encourage your child into school.
I hope you will continue to support us by ensuring that any medical or dental appointments are taken outside of school hours and that holidays are not taken during term- time. This does make a big difference to our attendance figures and ensures the continuity of learning.
Finally, if your child is struggling to come in to school for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate student manager who will be happy to support you.
How your child learns - please complete the survey!
We are working with lots of local schools in bidding for several hundred thousand pounds of Lottery funding to run courses for parents and carers on helping understand what really goes on in their children's heads, and how they can most easily support their learning- without any battles!
In order to get the bid approved, we need to prove that there is a need for it, so please could you spend just 2 minutes completing our survey? You can find it by clicking here.
