Jeans for Genes Day: Stalham High School

joFsn-2FAs you may be aware, Friday 22nd September is national Jeans for Genes Day.

The monies raised by schools and workplaces on Jeans for Genes Day fund a range of initiatives that improve the lives of children affected by a genetic disorder. Amongst other things, the charity:-

  • Runs an annual grant programme that is open to all UK charities and patient groups caring for children with genetic disorders;
  • Develops resources for schools to make pupils more aware and empathetic of the difficult lives that children with genetic disorders lead;
  • Funds the work of Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity dedicated to supporting families affected by genetic disorders.

This year, the money raised by Jeans for Genes will benefit over 20 charities based in the UK.

In support of this worthwhile charity, Friday 22nd September will be a non-school uniform day. Students will be asked to wear at least one item of ‘jean’ clothing and make a suggested donation of £1.00. All proceeds will be sent to Jeans for Genes to help them in supporting children with genetic disorders.
