10th October 2017
October 5th saw the new Parent Surgery Evening at SHS. Over 50 parents attended the first of what we hope will be many such events which focus on helping parents and carers manage student stress, personal issues, careers concerns, medical worries and personal safety matters. Deputy Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead Jayne Melhuish had assembled a team of professionals from the local community and School including Ian Smith (Police), Sean Hunte (SHS Student Manager), Arianne Hoppler (SHS Counsellor), Tash Drury (SHS Careers), Rachel Welch (Charlie Waller Trust), Kirsten Hill (Parent Support Advisor) and Dr Susie Duckworth and Julie Sterry (Sheringham Medical Practice). Parents had the chance to ‘speed date’ their way around these care professionals and ask advice or just chat about student well-being. A great evening was had by all. Watch out for information on the next one!
