SC 2014 c2

The School Council is a very important part of school life.

Student views often help to inform important policy decisions within the school. Membership is entirely voluntary but we try to ensure that all Houses are represented. We encourage students from all year groups to be involved. The School Council is run by senior prefects in Year 11 and supported by Jayne Melhuish and Heads of House.

Meetings are held weekly; minutes are published on the website and also distributed to every tutor group and senior staff. House representatives sometimes attend meetings with House Staff to ensure effective communication. School Council members also address school assemblies. They take a lead in the organisation of whole school events such as Charities Week.

Music for Mental Health

Two great young artists Asher Knight & Luena Martinez are visiting Sheringham High on Monday 15th October.
Currently supporting "Steps" on their tour and signed to the record label created by the band members of "Phats & Small”,
the artists were bullied at school and have had their own battles with mental health issues so are in the
perfect position to be able to raise awareness on these issues and inspire young students through their music.
