Graphic Products is a discipline of Design and Technology that is primarily concerned with communicating information through the medium of imagery and text. The world in which we live is full of graphic products, examples of which range from road signs, to maps, advertising billboards, packaging, and instruction manuals. The Graphic Products course for GCSE is aimed at developing the necessary understanding of the theory behind them and furthermore developing the drawing skills to produce plausible and exciting project work. Lessons within Graphic Products are a combination of focused practical tasks that are aimed at developing specific skills and knowledge, and a range of projects that have been carefully designed to be enjoyable and realistic to industrial situations. The course at this level focuses on acquiring key skills which include: Sketching, Rendering, Using various drawing and drafting instruments, Technical drawing featuring Orthographic, Isometric, Plano metric, Perspective drawings, CAD packages, Geometrical construction, industrial processes, and printing techniques, Product evaluation, enabling students to look critically at their own work and commercial products
