We deliver Science as a 5 year programme that allows students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to both achieve to the best of their ability and have the confidence to appreciate and understand the science that underpins life on Earth (and elsewhere?). Practical experiments (including exciting demonstrations) are used wherever possible to enliven the topics covered and further foster a desire to learn and explore this subject further. We want the students to love Science as much as we all do!
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Throughout the year the science department offer a number of STEM-related activities. These might be during an SMSC day, part of an external visit or an after school club. In 2018-2019 we hope to offer the following:
The science department offer a programme of revision classes beginning in January. A lunchtime and an after school session are offered each week. Additional revision classes can usually be organised by arrangement with individual teachers.
