In order to achieve ongoing and sustained improvement at Stalham High School the Directors of North Norfolk Academy Trust (NNAT) have assumed direct control of the governance of the school.

Christine Candlish has been the Chair of North Norfolk Academy Trust since 2016 and also chairs the Local Governing Body at Sheringham High School. Christine has also previously been a Governor of a primary school in Surrey. Christine is currently employed as the Managing Director of Victory Housing Trust. This role involves providing strategic and operational direction for Victory which owns and manages over 5,000 homes across Norfolk. She has worked in housing throughout her career and is also a qualified youth worker. Christine is married with two children and one grandchild. In her spare time, Christine enjoys gardening and photography and also loves to travel.

Gill Pegg

Gill Pegg has been a governor at Sheringham High School for more than 10 years and Chair of Governors for 5 years, and was Chair of the North Norfolk Academy Trust for 2 years.  Prior to this, she was a governor and Chair of Governors at Holt Primary School.  She has recently retired from working within the Strategy and Commissioning team of Children’s Services at Norfolk County Council.  Gill has project management and leadership and management qualifications and extensive experience of Quality Assurance processes and Careers Guidance.

John Woollocombe

John Wollocombe is a governor at Sheringham High School and a director of North Norfolk Academy Trust.  He is also a former director of the Victory Housing Trust.  He spent three years as an Army officer and fifteen years within the financial services industry and nine years within the social housing sector.  John was a director of Guinness Flight Asset Management Limited.  He is currently chair of Sheringham High School’s Finance and General Purposes committee.

Constance Tyce

Constance Tyce has been a governor at Sheringham High School for 25 years. She is also a director of North Norfolk Academy Trust and chairs the Personnel Committee.  Now retired, Constance’s professional career has included being a Primary Adviser for Norfolk’s Children’s Services.  She has also been a Headteacher of a first school and Headteacher of a nursery school and Children’s Centre.  Since retiring she has worked for the National College of School Leadership as a mentor and assessor on one of their Leadership programmes.


Andrew Richardson is the Executive Headteacher (CEO) for the Trust. He has overall responsibility for School Improvement within the Trust and is its Accounting Officer. Andrew is also Headteacher of Sheringham High School.


Julia Drury has a background in Education, having been the Head of Sixth form at Sheringham High school and also the Director of the Kett Sixth form college until she retired. She has been a Governor at Cromer Academy and is a Governor at Gresham Village School.

Grade 4+ in Triple Science – 100%

Grade 4+ in French – 77%

7 students (9.5% of year group) obtained 5 or more grades at 7+

Overall there were 8 grade 9s and 18 grade 8s
