Stress-busting Evening March 28th!



Dear Parent / Carer,

We are organising a well – being evening on March 28th for parents and students in Years 11 and 13.  Rachel Welch, who works for a charitable organisation called the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, will lead the evening. Rachel lives locally and is a friend of the School; she has led assemblies and training sessions on self – harm in the past.

Rachel works with a wide variety of schools across the country to raise awareness of issues that cause young people to suffer from anxiety and stress. She is an expert in her field and advises parents, professionals working with young people and the youngsters themselves about how to manage the daily stresses that many of us encounter, with the aim of avoiding a deterioration in our mental health.

On the evening of March 28th, Rachel will focus on exam stress and the anxiety that this can cause for our young people. She will advise us all on how to recognise whether our youngsters’ stress levels are a cause for concern and how to manage this.

If you would like to join us, please e-mail us at The talk will start at 7.00pm and we will aim to finish the evening at 8.00pm. It would be helpful if you could arrive by 6.50pm so that we can start promptly at 7.00pm. There will be tea and coffee on arrival, so please let us know how many of you will be attending, as it will help us to organise the refreshments.
