Our curriculum

Our Curriculum

We hope children are enthusiastic about coming to school.

We aim to provide an exciting curriculum, including outside visitors, such as artists, explorers, writers and musicians.  We make several educational visits each year and we make good use of the school grounds and the surrounding countryside, which includes woodland and a site of special scientific interest.

All classes are given some form of homework relevant to their age group. As children move through the school, they will be expected to tackle more work, building up to Year 6, when they are preparing for SATs (Standardised Assessment Tests) and the move to high school.

Pastoral Care

The well-being of pupils is primarily the responsibility of their class teacher, but all staff in the school will have a caring role.  Children are encouraged to discuss their concerns with the teacher, the Headteacher or the teaching assistant they work with most closely.  They will be treated with sensitivity and understanding.

Lottery Bid; Parent Survey

How your child learns - please complete the survey!

We are working with lots of local schools in bidding for several hundred thousand pounds of Lottery funding to run courses for parents and carers on helping understand what really goes on in their children's heads, and how they can most easily support their learning- without any battles!

In order to get the bid approved, we need to prove that there is a need for it, so please could you spend just 2 minutes completing our survey? You can find it by clicking here.
