Class Structure

There are  three mixed ability classes in the school. The structure varies slightly from year to year, according to the size of each year group. Teachers are able to meet the diverse needs of all pupils very effectively. Teachers are supported by teaching assistants. Mrs Emma Ollivier teaches Art across the school, and Premier Sports supply engaging and active PE sessions.

Induction

To help make the transition from home to school as smooth as possible we implement an Induction Programme. This begins in the Autumn term prior to the children starting school with a welcome meeting/coffee morning for new parents where you can meet staff, ask questions and receive practical information. The class teacher also visits your child at playgroup, nursery or at home to establish relationships and children are given the opportunity to make regular visits to school.

All new reception children are given a gradual introduction to school life in September.  The youngest pupils follow a part time routine over the first few weeks.  This helps them to adapt to the busy hustle and bustle of school little by little.
