I hope that the information given in this prospectus gives you a clear picture of our school.

I hope too that you will take the opportunity to visit us and see at first-hand what makes this school such a special place for students and staff alike.

At Sheringham we aim for excellence for all of our students, whatever their ability. The school provides opportunities for all students to fulfil their potential academically as well as in drama, music and sport. We have high expectations for our students and are proud of their many achievements. We provide a rich extra-curricular programme that includes a range of sporting, technical, dramatic, artistic and musical activities.

In our last inspection in 2017, Ofsted judged that the school continues to be ‘good’. The inspectors recognised the excellent standards that students achieve in public examinations and that students are happy and safe here.

For the last 8 years at GCSE, the School has maintained its place in the top tier of schools across the Eastern region.

In Sixth Form, too, the percentage of students achieving the top grades of A* and A and A* to B grades continues to be impressive, making us a top performing sixth form in North Norfolk. Sheringham High regularly sends students to Oxbridge Colleges with many other students going to some of the leading universities in the country. Our sixth form is fundamentally an inclusive one which offers level 2 courses which are practical, relevant and lead directly to work or further study.

Our best ambassadors are our students. Parents at our Open Evening will hear from Prefects and Peer Supporters about their roles and there will be an opportunity to meet with them and other students as you go around the school.

Visitors will be struck by seeing Sheringham Woodfields School on our campus. The partnership we have with this complex needs school has made us a Norfolk flagship for inclusion and we are proud of the many contacts between the students from the two schools. The Patch smallholding is an award winning facility on site.

We are a confident and forward-looking school and are determined to do the very best for our students. We aim to further improve on our existing high standards and stand as one of the 4 successful schools in the North Norfolk Academy Trust; a growing family of schools which drives learning in the Eastern Counties.

You are guaranteed a warm and friendly reception from staff and students should you decide to visit the school.

I look forward to meeting you.
